Description
In a blind tasting I’d be guessing this was Puligny-Montrachet for sure. The aromatics are ultra-savoury, hardly a skerrick of fruit, but the compensation is huge for any lover of Chardonnay’s uniquely stony and smoky maritime streak, just the faintest trace of oak, and then a palate that makes a laser beam look like a sputtering old candle: very tightly focused, flashing acidity, long and lime-y, graceful, pure and endless. An incredible Chardonnay still in its youth. Drink now to 2035. 12.5% . Screw cap. Bargain.
