Description
At the risk of sounding like a stuck record, these Mosquito Hill wines are seriously good. Having looked at the outstanding but highly acid-driven whites I was sure the Pinot would be too tart for a red: and I was WRONG! The fruit is lovely here, just tipping into secondary notes of leather, earth, and antique wood, but the cherry and cranberry fruit is kicking on hard, the oak still sexy yet mellow, but the greatness as always is on the palate where it’s sub-13% alcohol but so softly airbrushed by time and a deft winemaking hand, perfectly smooth and delightful to drink, light but assertively delicious. This is the heart and soul of what great Pinot Noir should be. 12.8% ABV. Drink now to 2034+
