Description
Stonegarden Shiraz 2021 from the Eden Valley, SA.
The Stonegarden estate was founded in 1857 and preserves the original vine plantings from that time, forming the basis of this the flagship red wine from the estate. Stonegarden is without doubt one of the most important and historic vineyards in Australia, and, coupled to the fact that the wine is made by Rockford supremo Ben Radford, results in almost immediate icon status for the brand, despite the fact that Radford and his partner only took over the estate in 2015.
Dark in the glass, offering a nose that’s thick with fruit, blueberries, black currant, and cherry jam, oak, white pepper, spice, smoked meat, and more, while the flavour follows through on a palate that is full bodied yet fresh, balanced, with silty tannins right through its very long and satisfying finish.
