Description
The really decisive value-for-money factor with this Stonier Pinot is that Campbell Mattinson of The Wine Front rated it at 95 points out of 100 – a truly outstanding score at any price but absolutely exceptional for a tipple costing just shy of $50 per bottle. And yet its top shelf sibling, the Stonier Reserve Pinot, which is $100 per bottle, came in at just one point more (96 points/100). So which would you go for? The $39.95 Pinot (my special price today) for the 95/100 point wine? Or $100 for the 96/100 Reserve that isn’t ready to drink yet? I frankly think it’s a bit of a no-brainer. This is Mornington Pinot at its best from an icon of the region, still demanding the most glowing reviews after decades at the forefront of Australian wine, and still delivering value-for-money in spades.
