The Barolo Roncaglie is a textbook expression of La Morra elegance—power wrapped in finesse. A luminous ruby red with subtle garnet highlights, it reveals a captivating bouquet of ripe cherry and dried rose petals, layered with warm spice, anise, and a hint of liquorice. On the palate, the attack is poised and vibrant, with fine-grained tannins that weave seamlessly through a core of red fruit and earthy minerality. The structure is dense yet graceful, lifted by a fresh acidity that drives a long, persistent finish.
Roncaglie benefits from its elevated position and marl-rich soils, giving the wine its hallmark perfume and silky mouthfeel. While approachable in youth after proper aeration, it will gain further complexity with cellar aging—10–15 years from vintage is an ideal window. A superb match for braised meats, game, and mature cheeses, it also pairs beautifully with mushroom-based dishes and classic Piedmontese fare. This is Barolo at its most refined—an eloquent voice of Nebbiolo and its terroir.
