Description
Surprise! Completely unexpected Bordeaux-esque Cabernet profile, intense fruit but pared back and allowing the fresh minty/menthol leafiness to flutter free, light and elegant but very ripe and attractive too. The palate is all class, balanced, elegant and fresh with excellent tannin structure, poise and length. Outstanding Clare Cabernet from a classic cool year. Still looks very young. Will love you long time in the cellar. Drink now to 2035+. Screw cap. 13.5%. Decant. Drink with food and an air of confident sophistication! Seriously classy gear…
92 Points from James Suckling:
Plenty to like here. A juicy, mid-weighted expression boasting fidelity to the blue-gum scrub of the Clare, while exuding notes of clove, crushed blackcurrant, dried sage and a swab of black olive across the nicely wrought finish, loose enough to allow the fruit to flow while taut enough, too, to placate the drinker seeking a beam of tension. Good drinking. Drink or hold. Screw cap.
